As soon as the first snowflakes delicately cover the Megève mountains with a soft white veil, hikers and lovers of wide open spaces are already taking the many marked routes and trails, on foot, on snowshoes or on cross-country skiing.

Megève, the Eden of winter hiking

Bordered by three mountain ranges with snow-covered forests, sunny mountain pastures and pristine peaks, Megève is the ideal playground in winter for long family hikes and friendly snowshoe outings. Equipped with a pair of trainers with notched soles, a pair of cross-country skis or snowshoes, set off to attack the forests, mountain pastures and undergrowth of Megève using the many marked trails and paths .

Easily accessible from the center of the village or the ski lifts with a pedestrian pass, the marked routes and paths allow you to survey the Megève peaks in complete safety and enjoy the benefits of hiking, even in winter! With more than thirty hiking trails, several snowshoe trails and numerous ski touring trails for all ages and all levels, you are bound to find a path that suits you!

For the more adventurous, Megève hosts ski touring events during the winter such as the Edelweiss Mountain Ski. This race, which brings together beginners, amateurs and professional athletes on the same starting line, offers three courses to cross the Megève mountains, under the beautiful stars.
