Henry Jacques Le Même, a famous architect, gave Megève's chalets their letters of nobility. By creating a home for Baroness Noémie de Rothschild, he made Megève a pioneering resort in terms of chalets: transforming peasant houses, occupied during the alpine pastures, into living spaces for skiers.
