Located at an altitude of 1,470 meters, the Megève altiport is an iconic facility, offering another way to discover the mountains, from the sky.

History of the altiport
It was under the impetus of Michel Ziegler, head of the Air Alpes company, who initiated the construction of several altiports in the Alps in the 1960s, and Jacques Henri Bujard, a Megève resident, director of the Edmond de Rothschild group, that the idea of creating an altiport in Megève was launched. The town saw it as an opportunity to attract wealthy customers. For his part, Edmond de Rothschild agreed to make available the land at Cote 2000, which Michel Ziegler had indicated to him as potentially suitable. The altiport was inaugurated in December 1964.
With its 600-meter runway, it remains one of the few altiports approved for mountain landings. Used for sightseeing flights as well as security operations and VIP transfers, it is an integral part of the Alpine aviation landscape.
