Mairie de Megève
With one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Mont Blanc massif, Megève has managed to preserve its heritage, its mountain architecture and its Haute-Savoie authenticity.
Its permanent population reaches 3889, but the town is classified in the 40,000-80,000 population category due to its 40,000 tourist beds. Megève boasts a dynamic economy with 1053 businesses, including 568 shops and 45 farms. The town is nestled in the heart of two ski areas: Espace Evasion Mont-Blanc and Les Portes du Mont-Blanc.
Jean-Noël Picot has been the mayor of the town since March 2026. Megève is administratively part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the Haute-Savoie department, the Bonneville arrondissement, and the Sallanches canton. It is a member of the Pays du Mont-Blanc intercommunal authority. The town implements innovative policies, particularly in environmental matters, which have earned it three Marianne d'Or awards, in 2001, 2011, and 2015.
