EXPOSITION "BALADE MEGEVANNE", AQUARELLES D'ELISABETH SOCQUET-MEILLERET

Sunday, July 06 at 14:00 p.m.
Musée de l'Ermitage du Calvaire Montée du Calvaire 74120 Megève
An established watercolourist, Elisabeth Socquet-Meilleret devotes herself to the demanding art of the travel diary through the streets of Megève and exhibits her works in the bucolic setting of the Hermitage du Calvaire museum.
Elisabeth Socquet-Meilleret combines the speed of sketching on the spot with watercolor tones to sublimate and depict the atmosphere and the different facets of a place, a practice adapted to travel and discovery. Landscapes, buildings, architectural details, faces are sensibly sketched on the notebook to immortalize the souvenir moment. She is part of this large global community of traveling sketchers, known as "Urban Sketching", and who share, through their sketches, the beauty of the world, by meeting each year in a city on the planet.
Under his refined and exquisite pencil strokes was born a travel diary dedicated specifically to Megève and its mild summer months: little corners found around old traditional farms, emblematic places of the village on a sunny afternoon, flowery facades, unusual details, landscapes, the artist sharpens our gaze and restores the summer and mountain atmosphere of the village and its very simple moments.
Watercolor workshops based on the travel diary are organized every week during the summer outdoors at the Calvaire de Megève.
